BIG BILL BROONZY ”black, brown and white”
Big Bill Broonzy was a major influence in the growth of the Chicago Blues style. The child of freed slaves in Mississippi, he learned guitar and accompanied many Chicago blues singers in the late twenties. He first recorded under his own name in 1930, as well as with Memphis Minnie, Sonny Boy Williamson, and Memphis Slim. This classic CD captures him at a Belgian jazz club in 1952 and at the apartment of his biographer in 1955.
